The biology

A metabolite that behaves like a signalling molecule.

Itaconate is an immunometabolite produced by activated macrophages via the enzyme ACOD1 (IRG1). It is not a metabolic side-product: it modulates NF-κB and NLRP3 inflammasome activity and activates Nrf2-dependent antioxidant responses.

That makes the itaconate axis an attractive point of intervention — and accurate measurement the bottleneck. Our assay reports concentration directly and continuously. Just mix your sample and read.
